2011 College Days Preaching By Sam Davison and Jason Gaddis

God answered our two main prayer requests for the Heartland Road Trip: 1) safety on the roads and 2) His speaking to our teens. It’s great to know that He cares enough about us to listen, and that he still speaks to us through His Word and through its preaching. College Days at Heartland Baptist Bible College was absolutely fantastic, not only because of the fun activities and the bonding time we had on the road, but mostly because of the great preaching we were able to hear all week. The following four messages were the main chapel sessions that all the attendees and students heard through the week.

Wednesday Evening: Pastor Jason Gaddis, Southwest Baptist Church

Pastor Gaddis is preaching through the story of Philemon in his Wednesday night series through the book, and the Wednesday of College Days opened the meeting at Southwest Baptist Church for their regular services. His message on forgiveness was literally life-changing for some within our group, and if that were the only message of the week it would have been worth it!

Thursday Morning: Bro. Sam Davison, president

Thursday morning chapel took place after the morning classes and concluded at lunch. Bro. Davison presented many of the core beliefs and teachings of the college, and listening to this message will give parents GREAT insight into what kind of philosophies might be taught to a student attending Heartland.

Thursday Evening: Bro. Sam Davison, president

Thursday evening, after all the day’s activities, concluded with a powerful message, again by Bro. Sam Davison. Sounding out the warning against thinking too highly of yourself, this powerful message will be an encouragement to all Christians.

Friday Morning: Pastor Jason Gaddis

In summary… Have a hard head and a soft heart. Heartland students (and all Christians) ought to know what they believe (BAM! – hard head) but still be compassionate in their service (soft heart). You’re certain to enjoy Pastor Gaddis’ preaching, and this message is a sampling of what we’ll be able to hear at next year’s Preaching Rally.
