We Got a New Resource Website!

We Got a New Resource Website!

A few weeks ago I got an email about one of our websites being down, and that led me down a rabbit hole of revamping the entire thing. So today, after a few weeks of work, something we have been plunking away at in our spare time, I want to show you the brand-new calvarybaptist.pub. This is our publications ministry, all the resources we have available here at the church, and I am so excited to share the new website with you. It is a work in progress; there are always things to tweak and change. But I am excited about where it is right now, and I am excited about some of the resources we have planned for 2026. I am hoping to get some of those ready by January and some more by the summer ladies’ devotional time. We have a lot of things planned, but in the meantime, here is our new website.

The Front Page

The front page is what this slider is showing: some of the highlighted books. A Case for Being Timeless is a teen book I wrote for a preaching rally several years ago. There are several mini-books available for free at our free booklet rack. There is a page about the bulk discounts available if you email us directly. Our latest book is Scripture Helps, which we are putting in all our guest welcome bags; I am very excited about that one. And my wife’s devotional. I have already put up videos about the last two books, Joy and Scripture Helps. We have the full audio version of Contending but Not Contentious available on our YouTube page, and the Christmas book we launched last year as a series of videos as well. Then there is The Bible’s Big Idea Bible study. I do not have a video exactly on this, but there is a series of devotionals and a series of lessons on Bible study on our YouTube page. And the Bible college book has been used over the years. Those are some of the main highlighted books, but down here are all the books, mini-books, pamphlets, booklets, and Calvary Classics we have available, scrolling all the time. Scroll a little further down, and there is the motto: “Calvary Baptist Publications exists to equip believers and strengthen churches with clear, Scripture-saturated resources born out of local Baptist church ministry.” These all started here at our church. They were books we wrote first for our ministry, first in youth ministry or first for our church, and then decided to format in ways that could be a blessing beyond our church. I like websites, I like writing, and I like formatting, so this is a convergence of skills and experiences and inclinations all in one. I do not expect every church to be able to do this, but we have been able to, and I just love doing it.

Categories and Authors

There is a Books tab, a Booklets and Mini-Books tab, a Calvary Classics tab, and books for ladies and books for teens. If you click on any of these, it takes you to a list of the books there. If a book is available on Amazon, outside our church, there will be a listing here, and clicking it takes you directly to the Amazon page for that book. If it is not listed on Amazon, there will not be a link; clicking the title just takes you to the booklet itself. There is information about the book, the author, the size and page count, and the different categories it fits in. Here are all the books tagged John Waterlue. Here are all the marriage resources; right now that is the only one we have available. Here are all the books tagged Ryan Rench. Again, some are available on Amazon and some are not, but if not, the book has its own information right here on the website. Beyond the links right here, down the sidebar of every book listing page are the different authors, whose available books you can pull up. Here is the Calvary Classics category. These are public-domain works that we have formatted for our church. There are many different booklets from Charles Chiniquy, a Catholic priest for twenty-five years before getting saved, after realizing what the Scriptures truly say about salvation, who wrote a kind of exposé of Roman Catholic teachings. It is a fascinating book, but too thick to promote as a book for most people, so I have pulled out various chapters and included those here. There are different booklets on the Lord’s Supper, booklets from George Müller’s autobiography, and the entire book The Doctrine of Repentance by Thomas Watson, from the 1600s, an incredible book on repentance, a very, very good book, available as a reprint on Amazon. There are different books by J. R. Graves on communion and a book on tithing by A. W. Pink. These are topics we want to pull out and say, “Here are some men who thought through this topic before us, and here are some thoughts in the public domain we want to share.” My dad has written several booklets, available for free in our booklet rack: Enduring Sound Doctrine; Skip the Church, Skip the Sermon, Worship at Home, with some house church ideas; Classic Christianity. These were all written while he was pastor. He did not write extensively, but as he got inspiration or faced something, he would write about it. We have a mosque directly next door to our church, so he wrote on Islam after reading the Quran and marking some of the contradictions we would have with them, trying to help our people understand Islam better. There is the Mini-Books and Booklets category. These are not full books, although some are available on Amazon; they are just little thirty-page things, and some we print ourselves here at the church. These are all the A Case For series, and all the Calvary Classics series are included in the books, mini-books, and booklets category too. Scrolling further down, there are all the product tags, and it is divided by size as well. If you want a little tiny book, you have those. If you want the square books, there are a couple of those available. If you want the bigger journal-size books, the 8-by-10s, those are available. So there are different ways of breaking down the categories.

About and Discounts

The only other pages in the menu are the About page, which tells our story and a little about why we have written these, a little about each author listed on our website, a link to our church page, and a link to our discounts page. Here is the breakdown of the various discounts. I think this one has the biggest increase, so it is highlighted, but if you buy ten to twenty-four books, that is fifteen percent off, all the way up to big bulk orders, where you would get fifty percent off, by emailing us directly at [email protected] for those discounts. There is no way to get discounts on the Amazon pages directly, so sorry about that, but you can email us, and we will try to hook you up. Again, this is a labor of love. I enjoy this kind of stuff, so I used my vacation time to focus on getting this website ready, and a lot of early mornings and late nights to get the wording together and the website laid out. You want to make a website look easy, as if it has always been this way, but anything like this represents a whole lot of labor of love. It has been a fun project, and I have enjoyed the process. So I encourage you to visit calvarybaptist.pub, the publications ministry of Calvary Baptist Church. “Calvary”: they are all Christian-based resources. “Baptist”: they are strictly and distinctly Baptist. And “Publications” includes books, mini-books, booklets, brochures, and all of that kind of stuff, lumped into one; it is the publications side of our ministry. I hope you enjoy it and poke around all the different resources, and if any of them can be a blessing and a help to you, thank you for your interest. God bless you, and we will see you in the next video.
