2 Ki 9-10; Ecc 11
Jehu is a crazy man. In a good way.
List the people he killed (there’s at least 3 in ch. 9 and a bunch in ch. 10):
He drives like a crazy man, he speaks like a crazy man, and he kills like a crazy man. This passage is gory, right? But 10:16 sums up Jehu’s passion, pretty much–zealous.
He did not do everything right, but the things he did, he did with zeal.
Where did Jehu go wrong?
There’s a key verse that sums up Jehu’s problem. The verse shows that we can DO, DO, DO and DO all we want, but if we’re missing this key, we’re missing a lot.
What verse is the key?
JOURNAL
- What did you learn from Jehu?
- Ecclesiastes 11 is about giving, and giving and giving… kind of like missions. Regardless of the outcome, we are called to give of ourselves. When we’re selfish, it’s a waste. How does this chapter communicate that thought?
- What are 3 things you are thankful for?
- Quote 1 Cor. 15:58.
- What happened today?
- Who did a great job today?
